For Our Visitors
OSS Orthopaedic Hospital visiting hours
The visiting hours for the inpatient nursing floor are unrestricted.
Our policy is to maintain a safe and secure environment while allowing patients to have family members and/or a support person with them during their medical stay at OSS Orthopaedic Hospital. Patients may have no more than two visitors at a time with the understanding that when the patient is being helped by the staff, the visitors may be asked to step out of the room and wait in a non-clinical are, such as the hallway, the cafe, or waiting area. The OSS Orthopaedic Hospital will not discriminate against visitors based on age, sex, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
At time of registration, each patient is requested to have one family member/support person accompany them to registration. Additional family members/support persons can wait in the main lobby. View more information on what to expect while you are waiting for your loved one in surgery.
At the discretion of the nurse providing care, one family member/support person may be allowed into the pre-operative area for that patient under special circumstances, such as surgery delays.
Visitors will only be allowed in the recovery area at the discretion of the charge nurse.
Family members/support persons are not allowed at any time, without exception, to observe surgical or invasive procedures done within the hospital.
One overnight visitor is permitted with the understanding that when the patient is being helped by the staff, the visitors may be asked to step out of the room and wait in a non-clinical area. The patient will be asked to identify the person who will remain with them overnight. No one under the age of 18 will be permitted to stay overnight. Children 8 years or older, in good health, and under constant adult supervision, may visit patients during general visiting hours, unless otherwise indicated.
