Dr. Rutter is very knowledgeable and listens to you as well as answer your questions honestly. I recently had a right total knee replacement and was very anxious going into this surgery as this was my 7th surgery, all of which were orthopedic repairs and this my 4th total joint replacement. I had an infection over 10 years ago after a left total hip repair and complications from that surgery. Needless to say I become increasingly worried that this could happen again when facing joint repair or replacement surgery. I experienced a recurring infection (elsewhere) prior to this surgery, which resulted in surgery being canceled the first time and me having to wait another 2 1/2 months for it to be rescheduled. I was again tested for this infection prior to the rescheduled surgery and was on antibiotics prior to surgery. Unfortunately the low grade infection persisted but Dr. Rutter took added precautions and called in an internal disease physician to review my treatment. He was honest and straightforward with me. Post surgery I dreaded going to PT but I worked hard and I progressed much quicker than I thought I would. My knee feels so much better and I can walk again and take care of myself and my household chores!

Everyone at OSS was polite, friendly, concerned and aimed at relieving my pain. Surgery is a last resort decision and I felt guided to the best solution.
