Dr. Amit Patel
Amit R. Patel, MD is board-certified by both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgeons. Dr. Patel treats general orthopaedic issues including joint replacement and extremity trauma, but he has special expertise and fellowship training in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of the spine. His primary interests are treating complex spinal deformity, degenerative spinal conditions, back and neck pain, and pediatric and adult spinal trauma. Dr. Patel performs minimally invasive spine surgeries as well as surgical second opinions.
Dr. Patel’s goal is to get patients back to doing the activities they enjoy. In his leisure time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sports and the outdoors.

I was seen in the ER for severe sciatic pain in my leg, including numbness in my saddle region. Thanks to Dr. Patel and his team, they quickly recognized my symptoms were consistent with a rare syndrome known as, Cauda Equina Syndrome. Dr. Patel was on call and rushed to the hospital to perform surgery. He spent time with me before surgery explaining what was going on and what they needed to do to fix the problem. More importantly, following the surgery he spent a good amount of time talking with my wife about the surgery and made sure not to leave until she had all of her questions answered. I thank Dr. Patel for his quick response, steady hands, and knowledge regarding my circumstances. My family will forever be grateful for all you and your team have done to minimize the long-term effects of my syndrome.
