Dr. Amit Patel
Amit R. Patel, MD is board-certified by both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgeons. Dr. Patel treats general orthopaedic issues including joint replacement and extremity trauma, but he has special expertise and fellowship training in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of the spine. His primary interests are treating complex spinal deformity, degenerative spinal conditions, back and neck pain, and pediatric and adult spinal trauma. Dr. Patel performs minimally invasive spine surgeries as well as surgical second opinions.
Dr. Patel’s goal is to get patients back to doing the activities they enjoy. In his leisure time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sports and the outdoors.

I saw Dr. Patel for the 1st time last Wednesday. I'm always leary how doctors will react. He set my worries away right from the start. He listened to my concerns, was friendly and very thorough. My appointment lasted an hour an a hour. So I definitely didn't feel rushed like some other appointments I go to. He ordered meds for inflammation and put in an order for physical therapy. I have a follow-up appointment in 6 weeks. I had Dr. Ashana (which he is no longer there because he moved to another state) and he was a great doctor. He was very thorough, friendly and listened to my concerns. Finally after years and years of being in pain that all my other doctors wrote off as normal, I decided to go to OSS. I was glad I did. He ordered x-rays and then MRI's and found out my spinal cord was compressed from my C5 down. He preformed my interior neck disc replacement surgery. So a few years after that surgery, I started having lower back pain that just continued to get worse. Plus pain in my hips so instead of wasting any time (years) with my other doctors, I went back to OSS. I'm glad I was/am able to have 2 wonderful doctors from OSS.
