Dr. J. Alexander Holbert is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. His clinical interests include disc herniations, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spinal deformity, and traumatic spine injuries.

Dr. Holbert earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Geisinger Health System. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at the nationally recognized Twin Cities Spine Center, one of the country’s premier institutions for spine care and innovation.

Dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care, Dr. Holbert offers a full spectrum of treatment options—including minimally invasive techniques, motion-preserving procedures, and complex spinal reconstruction. He works closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan focused on relieving pain, restoring function, and improving quality of life.

Originally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Holbert is honored to return home to care for the community that helped shape his values and aspirations. He takes great pride in serving his hometown with compassion, integrity, and surgical excellence.  He has special interest in minimally invasive techniques, motion preservation and spinal deformity.

In his leisure time, Dr. Holbert enjoys skiing, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
