James W. Klunk, DO is an orthopaedic spine surgeon with special expertise in adult spinal degeneration and deformity. Dr. Klunk uses the most advanced technologies in robotics and navigation, motion preservation, and minimally invasive techniques to return you to a healthy, active lifestyle.
Dr. Klunk works closely with the OSS Health Pain Management physicians and physical therapists to develop a plan of care specific to each patient’s medical condition. His goal is to get patients back to a healthy, active lifestyle. In his leisure time, Dr. Klunk enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, working on cars and hunting.

I had a 3rd epidural , sorry to say it only worked for 7 weeks, after the first 2 that did not work , I talked to Dr. Klunk about the operation to eliminate the sciatic that caused me to not be able to walk without holding onto something, and the pain associated with it, Had the operation Good Friday, should have had it in January instead of all the fooling around, Operation was like 3-4 hours, when I woke up and in recovery, NO PAIN, later in the day the nurse had me walk with a walker down the hall,man did we go,NO PAIN. Had to take care of myself and be careful for a few weeks, I was walking 1/2--1/2 mile a few day later, it was still cold, so I only went out when nice weather. It healed well, he even let me start to golf in late May, chip and putt for a week then a little more in swinging, 3 & 1/2 months later and I am doing things I use to do except lifting weights with the back. I placed my trust in him, he is on your side, HE did lose my golf swing somewhere.

My previous orthopedic Dr retired. I hadn’t seen anyone in over 10 years about my back. I had a sudden flare up in my lower back area. Dr Klunk was recommended by the Dr I see for my knee. I was very pleased with my visit. He was very personable and professional. He took a lot of time to evaluate my symptoms. I look forward to having him manage my lower back concerns as they arise. I was able to get relief from the current discomfort from his suggestions.

Dr. Klunck is Awesome! He explained my condition and the procedure that he would be performing to make me better. The procedure went well and I loved that Dr. Klunck was in contact with me consistently after the surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Klunck to family and friends.
