Dr. James Klunk
James W. Klunk, DO is an orthopaedic spine surgeon with special expertise in adult spinal degeneration and deformity. Dr. Klunk uses the most advanced technologies in robotics and navigation, motion preservation, and minimally invasive techniques to return you to a healthy, active lifestyle.
Dr. Klunk works closely with the OSS Health Pain Management physicians and physical therapists to develop a plan of care specific to each patient’s medical condition. His goal is to get patients back to a healthy, active lifestyle. In his leisure time, Dr. Klunk enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, working on cars and hunting.

Dr Klunk has been my life savior! I had been under the care of Dr Patel for 6 months when a major issue developed within my neck and I needed surgery asap. Dr Patel didn't have any available surgery dates for 4 months. He said he'd talk to his colleagues to see if one of them had availability sooner. Two days later, I received a call from Dr Klunks staff that Dr Klunk had a surgery cancellation. Met with Dr Klunk 2 days later and had surgery later that week. Dr Klunk is a very caring and excellent neurosurgeon! Definitely recommend Dr Klunk!

I’ve seen Dr. Klunk twice. He answered all my questions, explained my X-rays and MRI in a way that I could understand. He gave me options to choose from and he even called me personally to discuss my concerns.

I was having extreme shoulder and arm pain, and after getting checked it was found that I had a disc in my neck causing the issues. I met with Dr. Klunk to review the MRI and for surgery. He was very informative and reassuring throughout the entire process. He met with me prior to surgery to see how I was doing and make sure all of my questions were answered. I felt completely at ease having him as my surgeon. After surgery, he checked in again to make sure everything was okay. I really appreciated the matter of fact approach with which he provided information to me, as well as the reassurance and having a doctor that truly cares for his patients. I would 100% recommend Dr. Klunk to anyone that needs to have neck surgery.
