Dr. Sania Mahmood
Dr. Mahmood went to University of Maryland, College Park for her undergraduate degree, and medical school at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She completed a year of general surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia before completing her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mahmood finished her last year of training in Joint Arthroplasty at Emory University.

Had x-rays of my knee taken, and explained to me in layman’s terms the primary causes of my pain. Explained the different treatments and each one’s advantages & disadvantages. Arthritic growth is a major factor, but meniscus wear is also another cause. Gave me medication options and administered a cortisone shot to directly into my knee to ease the pain. I have taken the doctor’s recommendations on medication, and along with the cortisone shot have enjoyed pain free movement. The doctor has also provided me with recommended physical exercises to strengthen my muscles around the affected area. I have a 6 week follow up for the doctor to observe the effects of all the above and determine the path forward. I would recommend her to any patient with similar issues.
