Dr. James Gilhool
James Gilhool, D.O. is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Gilhool diagnoses and provides non-surgical treatment for disorders of the spine. Through exercise and injections, Dr. Gilhool’s goal is to help restore function so patients can do daily activities and improve their independence.
Dr. Gilhool is also a Certified ImPACT Consultant (CIC) treating concussions. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities and coaching lacrosse.

OSS's emphasis on team approach medicine was certainly demonstrated by Dr Gilhool and his team. I was scheduled for a steroid injection to my neck by another OSS physician. , While on route to procedure I recieved a call to my voice mail that my physician was ill and I needed to reschedule. We live 11/2 hour away from York facility, upon returning call I explained we were almost to hospital, both my daughters had taken off work to drive me, I had stopped my blood thinner 3 days prior in prep, was there any way to proceed. After a brief hold I was informed to keep coming ,Dr Gilhool had added my injection to his case load!! I was assured of his credentials and upon meeting ,wonderful bedside manner and kindness, with and excellent procedure delivery. This could never have happened at other facilities, patient centered care and team work are certainly a priority with this doctor and team.
