Dr. Amit Patel
Amit R. Patel, MD is board-certified by both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgeons. Dr. Patel treats general orthopaedic issues including joint replacement and extremity trauma, but he has special expertise and fellowship training in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of the spine. His primary interests are treating complex spinal deformity, degenerative spinal conditions, back and neck pain, and pediatric and adult spinal trauma. Dr. Patel performs minimally invasive spine surgeries as well as surgical second opinions.
Dr. Patel’s goal is to get patients back to doing the activities they enjoy. In his leisure time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sports and the outdoors.

Dr. Patel is simply amazing! I would highly recommend him for your spinal treatment. He is a brilliant surgeon while still being able to explain to you what is happening so you understand! He performed surgery on me for a slipped disc with success a few years ago. Most recently he performed a complete spinal fusion on my 15 year old daughter with great success! This surgery was quite serious (due to her age) and we chose him to perform even after getting a second opinion (both said surgery needed) from Johns Hopkins! We met many times with Dr. Patel and I asked endless questions with him taking the time to answer each thoroughly. I felt like we were a team in this procedure. I put my full trust in his hands to take care of my daughter and ensure her spinal future and he was more than capable of handling the challenge. Thank you!

Dr. Patel is amazing and his bedside manner is beyond what you can expect this day in age. He is patient and genuinely concerned for the quality of life in his patients. I had seen many doctors prior to seeing Dr. Patel and I am beyond grateful to have been referred to Dr. Patel. He was the first and only willing to operate on me and my quality of life is far beyond where I ever thought I could be again. Thank you Dr. Patel and his Amazing Team!
