Dr. George Margetas
George P. Margetas, DO is a native of York and enjoys working in the community where he was raised. Dr. Margetas treats all general orthopaedic problems with special interest and training in joint replacements of the hip and knee. Dr. Margetas uses the most advanced technologies and minimally invasive approaches to return his patients back to the activities they enjoy. He places great importance on spending time with his patients to help them understand their orthopaedic condition as well as the treatment options.
Dr. Margetas also treats many general orthopaedic conditions, including minor trauma, sports injuries and upper extremity issues. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His interests are travel, exercise, sports and hunting.

When you talk with Dr. Margetas it’s obvious that he cares about his patients. He focuses on you.. he takes the time to explain what he does and what to expect. He answers every question. You leave feeling safe in his hands.. and you are. He has standards re your health ( esp A1C numbers) and following thru re going to PT. In the end he gives you back your ability to live your life. He takes pride in his work and a high standard of care.. when I saw him I could no longer do stairs or inclines. Could no longer walk my dog or even go out shopping w out severe pain. I needed both knees replaced. He described in detail n w honesty what to expect and that he would decide when to do my second knee ( depending on my recovery) . After dedicating 2022-23 to my health.. I now walk 2 miles every day, just got a puppy, etc. I have my life back..I have options..
