Dr. Brent Hines
Brent S. Hines, DO is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Hines provides care for all general orthopaedic problems with a focus in shoulder surgery. He has expertise in knee and shoulder replacements as well as arthroscopic surgery in the knee and shoulder.
Dr. Hines completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Memorial Hospital right here in York. After his residency, he completed specialized fellowship training in shoulder surgery at Saint Francis Orthopaedic Institute in Columbus, Georgia. He helps his patients get back to the activities they enjoy.

I’d been suffering for months with severe,progressive shoulder pain. Until I visited Dr. Hines nobody could give me a definitive diagnosis, let alone a plan of treatment. Dr. Hines immediately knew what I had was ‘Frozen Shoulder’ and put a plan into action. After having a surgical manipulation done by him, I’m only 2 weeks into PT and able to use my dominant arm almost fully for the 1st time in over 9 months. God Bless Dr. Hines & O.S.S. 🙏 Addendum…. It’s 3 months later, my surgical intervention was on April 12, it is now July 11th. The pain returned with a vengence before I had completed my 6 weeks of PT. I returned to Dr. Hines who injected a shot of Toradol into my shoulder joint, which didn’t help much. The pain continued as did the lack of function, and on July 5th I’d had enough. I went to the ER at York Hospital who diagnosed me with the exact same condition…Frozen Shoulder. So props to Dr. Hines for knowing what the issue was early on. The problem is, not a lot can be done to alleviate the pain of this condition. As good of a doctor as he is, and he is, steroids are the most effective course of treatment in my case and I cannot use them. But I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hines to anyone! He is knowledgeble, a great communicator and very interested in the well-being of the patient he’s with..he doesn’t rush you out the door!
